DAY 1

This one-week project is all about interaction, the way you interact with people, the way you communicate with them and why?

This project teaches us how to use an audience to communicate a message.

We started off the day by getting in pairs and picking a random quote from a bag.

The quote my partner and I got was “Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed and some few to be chewed and digested.”

We first started brainstorming on this quote, what it made us think about, the literal meanings of some of the key words and what they meant.

Then, we explored the metaphor visually, using sketching as a tool.

Today was about planning our final piece which is supposed to be a film that shows an interaction we made with a certain crowd.

Unfortunately, my partners and I’s planning wasn’t completely successful because we couldn’t find a way to relate our quote to an interactive final piece successfully.

But after doing some research and getting our ideas in order, we finally succeeded to plan a good and organized piece.

DAY 2

We only came in today for a group tutorial which had a main purpose of guiding us through this project.

I think these tutorials really help because it is essential to get outsiders opinions specially tutors because it makes us think about different perspectives of our project that we didn’t think of before.

It sometimes makes us question our concepts which leads it to get better and more developed.

Our group tutorial was successful whereas we got a chance to develop our interaction into something more pleasing to the public

And it also helped us figure out a final outcome.

DAY 3

Today started with answering reflective questions about this project:

Reflective questions exercise

How did you feel working as a pair throughout the whole project?

Working as a pair was really challenging since we both had to have the same final outcome and we had to struggle to find one idea we both agreed on. It was hard because we got paired with a new person we knew nothing about and in my case we had really different opinions and ideas about the project. But, one day after the other we got to understand each other more and we were able to combine both our ideas to create a successful, and creative final outcome.

What difficulties did you face and why?
I think the interaction part of the project was the hardest. We had to think of a way of approaching people in an entertaining and creative way. The process of thinking took a lot of time and it really was a struggle.

What did you learn from interacting with the public?

Interacting with the public was something very new to me and it thought me that the public can be an essential part of your work and projects. They can be a part of the creative process we go through to get to a final outcome.

If you were to restart your project, what changes would you do?

I think If I had the chance to restart this project, the only change I would make is the quote. I would change the quote my project was based on whereas it was really hard to link our quote to a creative final outcome.

Then we had sometime to work on our final piece and ended the day with a crypt.

I think this project really was important whereas it exposed us to different ways on interacting with the public which is an essential part of being a graphic designer.

It also challenged us to work with a partner which some including myself found a bit hard.
