PAULETTE NENNER
"RAPE"
I was inspired by this piece by "Paulette Nenner" for the JFFA project. I wanted to create jewelry that sent a message to the world and I was inspired by this piece because it really speaks to me on so many levels. This piece was part of an art exhibit called "rape" that helped survivors cope with their opinion. The fact that the survivors themselves got the chance to express their pain in these pieces just inspired me to do a piece of jewelry that made a statement and that would raise awareness.

SIR THOMAS MORE
“UTOPIA”
Also, while researching about utopianism, my eyes laid on some interesting information about a book called “Utopia” written by Sir Thomas More. In fact, Sir Thomas more was the first to ever write of a “utopia”. His book is about a complex, self-contained community that is set on an island in which they share a common culture and a way of life. What interested me the most about this book, is the book cover whereas it represents an island surrounded by water which made me think about my idea of associating water and utopianism through the water that made you young again. The river on the cover made me think of a youth river, a river in which people would jump and be young again. I got inspired by this book cover and decided to start off my final project from this.

PIERRE BERNARD
“PALAIS BULLES”
After getting the world utopianism, I was curious to know more about it. My purpose was to look up anything related to utopianism. While I was researching, I got some new interesting knowledge about utopianism. I read about this house in Cannes, France called “Palais Bulles” built by Pierre Bernard in 1984. It was later on acquired by Pierre Cardin, couturier and art patron, in 1992. As Pierre said “this place has become my own bit of paradise.” The reason it is related to utopianism is because of its magnificent architecture. Its cellular colorful forms give a utopian vibe whereas the house seems to beautiful to be true. This house made me think about the ways I could express utopianism through my projects and that’s why I chose its interiors to be part of the space I worked with in this project.

VOGUE GERMANY
“NAKED FASHION”
These pictures intrigued me and I think this was the main purpose of my third look in the fashion communication project, “intriguing”. I loved the contrast between the black and white colors and I was inspired by this naked look and the contrast and statement it does.

MOSCHINO
“DRY CLEANING DRESS”
For the second look in fashion communication, I was inspired by the “dry cleaning bag dress” by Moschino. The reason why I chose this as my inspiration is because I find it ironic how such big brands could create a somehow very cheap look and sell it for a really high price. This dress got a lot of action and talk whereas it was a very chocking look coming from Moschino.

PSYCHO DIVA
“LUCA MAININI”
The reason why I didn’t choose just one his work is because I was inspired by all of them for the first look in the fashion communication project.
Luca Manini calls himself the “psycho diva” whereas he creates a series of colleges/photography/GIFS that represent in his opinion “chaotic fashion’’
I chose his work because they somehow all look like each other yet are so different and I like the way he perceives fashion.

MAD ARCHITECTS
"HARBIN OPERA HOUSE"
For my final architectural piece i was inspired by the “HARBIN OPERA HOUSE” By “Mad Architects” . It is located in China and was built in 2015.
The reason why I chose this architectural piece is because it reminded of the final structure we created in class today. Even though this piece is mainly round shapes it still reminded me of the structure that I think we shared with this piece.
This later on inspired me to sketch our final structure and imagine it as a real architectural piece.

NICOLETTE
"AFRICAN ATARASHII"
This piece of textiles was interesting to me whereas it kind of reminded me of the textiles we did in group on day 2 of the fashion and textiles pathway. Its patterns were really similar to the ones in our project.
This is a textiles piece by "Nicolette" called "African Atarashii"

PHILIP STARCK
"PRODUCT DESIGN"
I was inspired by this product from "Philip Starck" for the product design project.
The whole set he created kind of reminded me of a melon and so I was inspired to create something similar to it for the final melon piece in the product design project.

STEVE DININNO
“DIVORCE”
This digital art piece by Steve Dininno was what inspired me to create my piece for the “SAY IT OUTLOUD” project. In this piece, you can notice that the wings on the women were made out of the divorce papers which means that divorce set her free. You can also notice the ring on the bottom left side which was my main inspiration for my final piece.
